Requirements:

The following documents must be delivered and picked up in person at the Embassy of the Argentine Republic (81 Metcalfe St, Ottawa, ON K1P 6K7), Monday to Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.:

1. Visa application form (completed and signed)
   1. For Diplomatic Passports, complete the Diplomatic Visa Form
   2. For Special Passports, complete the Official Visa Form
2. Valid passport.
3. One 4 cm x 4 cm photo (taken within 12 months prior to application)
4. Copy of the travel itinerary
5. Note requesting the issuance of the visa and containing:
   1. Traveller/s full name, passport number and DOB
   2. Purpose of the trip
   3. Date of arrival and departure

This note should be issued by:

• the Official Travel Section of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada or Global Affairs Canada, for holders of Canadian diplomatic or official passports.
• the corresponding Embassy in Ottawa, for holders of diplomatic or official passports other than Canadian.

 

Before bringing the documents, please verify:

• That the arrival and departure dates on the itinerary, visa application form and IRCC / GAC / Embassy note are identical.
• Date of arrival in Argentina: this is often confused with the date of departure from Canada, but they might not be the same.
• Date of departure from Argentina: this is often confused with the date of entry to Canada, but they might be different.
• Length of stay: it is not required to include a range of dates, but the number of days of stay in Argentina.
• Where indicated, dates should be entered using the format dd-mm-yyyy.

 

Additional notes:

• Visa Application Forms in .pdf can be downloaded, opened in Adobe Acrobat and filled in on the computer, prior to being printed.
• Photos 4 cm x 4 cm in size lead to faster processing. However, if unable to get hold of photos in the aforementioned size, Canadian passport size photos are also acceptable.
• The passport must have an expiration date of at least six months from the date of arrival in Argentina and must include the bearer's signature.

Important: we usually require submission of documents at least 10 working days before the intended travel date. Otherwise, we cannot guarantee timely processing.
