Archives related to grave violations of human rights are vital for political transicions and consolidation of democracy. As an instrument to provide traces of a violent past, such archives play an important role as evidence in the judicial procedures to fight against impunity, building the basis for memorialization policies.
The field of “archive and human rights” has recently emerged, found on experiences and new developments over the decades. In order to exchange knowledge and identify good practices in this field, this conference brings together national and international institutions and individuals working on archives, memory and human rights.
The conference is open to the general public. Prior registration is requested for closed workshops. The registration deadline for the workshops is February 2, 2018. For further questions please contact: conferencia@cipdh.gob.ar and for more information please visit: www.cipdh.gob.ar/en
