PANEL DISCUSSION: “OPPORTUNITIES AND DIVERSIFICATION IN INTERNATIONAL TRADE”

On November the 15th, 2018, the Faculty of Law of the University of Ottawa hosted a panel discussion entitled “Opportunities and Diversification in International Trade,” which focused on the different aspects and perspectives that open up based on the Mercosur – Canada relationship.


A number of participants from the academic, government, business and diplomatic environments, as well as students, attended the event. The purpose was to disseminate the possibilities that arise from the Mercosur – Canada relationship and to exchange points of view concerning its future.


The event was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Civil Law, Ms. Céline Lévesque, and the Head of the Department of International Relations, Mr. Adel El Zaïm. The Ambassadors of Argentina, Brasil, Paraguay and Uruguay, and a representative of Global Affairs Canada, were among the speakers.


A reception followed the closing of the event, at which Argentine and Uruguayan wines, as well as typical Brazilian and Paraguayan dishes were served.
